Eloi Gélinas, of Sainte-Flore, passed away early Sunday morning at the age of 80 years old. He was a man of many trades over the years, but really found his niche as a master craftman and woodworker, building everything from children’s toys and furniture, to entire houses. His biggest joy in life was being surrounded by family, friends, his dog, sharing laughs, a good meal, and his endless memories, stories and silly jokes with anyone willing to listen.
The family will welcome visitors at Oscar St-Ours, 2203 Champlain, Shawinigan, G9N 2L5, on Thursday , August 23rd at 19 h, service will be held on Friday, August 24th, at 14 h at Saint-Charles Garnier Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Obelard and Rezina Gelinas, his brother, Francois Gélinas, and his sisters, Pauline Gélinas and Helene Umansky, his second wife Carol Crabtree.
He is survived by his first love, Carmen Cote; his brother Jean-Claude Gélinas; his children, Mario Gélinas (girlfriend Josée), Manon Gélinas (Husband Dale), Claudine Gélinas, Michele Watson (husband Mike), Stephanie Ottinger (husband Brad), Pauline Finlay (husband Barney), and Eloi Gélinas 2nd (wife Nickie), his beloved dog, Cricket, 15 grandchildren, and 6 great grand children; his brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
